Collections

Included in Children's Collection are over fifty popular board-approved titles for young readers ages six to eight, and many award-winning picture books to get younger children excited about reading. The Skene also offers the area's largest collection of children's books in Spanish.

Regional Collection

A current project of the library is the compilation of regional books on the Catskills, Hudson River and Delaware County, including books and related material depicting the history of the region's hotels and boarding houses fondly remembered by many visitors to the town and library.

"Each summer and fall, travelers from all over the country stop at the library and museum searching for a piece of their past. Many of these people came from families who were owners or summer guests of the hotels in the area. It's a real mix, but they're all looking for this type of historical information," notes Library Director Linda Rodgers.
